Family

My wonderful partner of 10 years, Robert Baker, has a home in Ellsworth. He graduated from the University of Maine with a degree in ecology and environmental science and currently works in sales and delivery at Merrill Furniture. (Note, I think I resemble Larry King in this photo to the left!) We have three fur babies, Miles and Fred, and a bunny named Ollie, who all live with Robert. I live with my mom, Terry Morley, on Raccoon Cove Road. My grandma, Trudy Morley, used to live with us there as well. In the photo below, my grandma and I are at the State Park enjoying music together. She was an active volunteer with the Downeast AIDS Network before she passed away at 97 in 2018.

My family originally hailed from Chicago and moved to Maine when I was 10 and to Mount Desert Island when I was 12. I attended MDI High School, where I played tennis under the guidance of coach Bill Nelski from Lamoine. We were a state champion tennis team. I won the Sportsmanship Award one year. In 1989, my final year of high school, my family built a house in Lamoine on Raccoon Cove Road. My grandparents, Fred and Trudy Morley, relocated from Florida to Lamoine, Maine, also on Raccoon Cove Road. I went to college between 1989 to 1995, then lived outside of NYC and in Atlanta. In 2006, while living in Atlanta, I purchased my grandmother’s home on Raccoon Cove Road and moved back to Lamoine to be closer to family and enjoy the Maine life.
